“Join KeADILan, No to Racial Politicsâ€
Sep 30th, 2006 by Tian

Several Chinese KeADILan leaders including Dr Lee Boon Chye and I from various states gathered in Ipoh this Saturday (30 September) to discuss ways to boast Chinese members. The meeting was held from16:00hr to about 18:00hr at KeADILan state office in Ipoh.
We concluded that this is the best opportunity to launch a mass membership drive, especially among the Chinese community. In recent months, certain Umno leaders have been playing up racial sentiment to the annoyance of the non-Malay communities. More and more people are disappointed that even younger generation such as Khairy Jamaluddin, Hishamuddin Hussein Onn, etc. are also playing racial card.

Their conduct exposed hypocrisy of Abdullah regime. People now lost trust in his pretension as a ‘moderate’, ‘open’, ‘approachable’ prime minister. They are also pretty fed up with government leaders now behaving like chieftains of particular race rather than the entire nation.
We should seize this mood to present a viable political alternative to the racial parties. Malaysia need a political party that is genuinely committed the interest of the whole population. We tentatively name “No to racial politics campaign—KeADILan mass membership driveâ€.
In the next three months, we will launch a number of activities toward this aim. These include: banner, car stickers, booklets, VCD, and so on. A central secretariat will also be set up to coordinate the nationwide recruitment drive.
