Razak Baginda is freed on bail!
Nov 24th, 2006 by Tian
Congratulations! An innocent man is finally free. But Razak will still face a possible death sentence. A murder charge is no joke.
I am not sure what grounds provided the judge with the legal basis to release Razak. It is rather unusual for a person in his prime to be granted bail on health reasons. It is an interesting change to see our judges compassionate enough to allow bail for a suspect accused of abetting a gruesome murder.
Personally, I have no complaint that Razak has been freed on bail, although, I am not sure that it gives the right impression of our justice system. His release is in stark contrast to the treatment of Anwar Ibrahim, who was charged with a lesser offence. It makes Anwar’s case seem even more ridiculous: he was not allowed bail even when his health was in a critical condition.
Anyway, I congratulate Razak’s family, his wife Mazlinda especially, for daring to utter the truth in public (Nov 16):
“He is not interested in politics. He doesn’t want to be the next Prime Minister. He is a good man. He is a good husband. He is supposed to protect me. It is the police who did this. They are the ones. They are supposed to protect their country.
“Sampai hati you all buat dia macam ni. (How could you have the heart to do this to him?) Don’t do this to him at his expense. It’s his life. Why put it on my husband? It’s cruel, cruel, cruel.â€
I am not sure that Razak is not interested in politics. If he had no interest in politics, he shouldn’t have worked for the Defence Minister@DPM Najib Tun Razak. He wouldn’t have been entrusted as the broker for a 3.7 billion ringgit submarine deal.
Nonetheless, we are certain that he has no interest in becoming the next prime minister. When Mazlinda said: “He is innocent.†I believe her.
i have other opinians of who killed altantuya but i shan’t disclose it in here. i think it’s someone else and not him (razak).
cheh…!!! one million is siap siap sui for this guy. we should charge more. this is like returning the money back to goverment and later back to his own pocket. He he what is one million compare to a bilion ringgit deal.ha ha
the murder does look too easy. sloppy work. and for it to be done by UTK officers with the brilliant razak baginda as the mastermind.amateurs can do better. FISHY!!! But one thing for sure-he’s paying cash for the adultery sins
Why should he kill the girl? Islam allows him to take a second wife, and subsequently divorce her. So I dont see any reason for razak to commit this crime.
The girl was killed probably becasue she knew too much about our politics. This was the reason that she had to disappear. But the method used….
1. no bail on murder case. but he got bail for the first time in history.
2.I didnt agree he has no interest in politics since he took political science before majoring to defense analysis
3.yes I agree It is quite sloppy but the murder team focus on the model not the friend who reported her missing.Thats their biggest mistake.
[...] I said in my post two years ago (24/11/2006), I believe that Razak was not involved in Altantuya’s murder. The police and the incompetent [...]
