KeADILan leaders on the stage

After the evening with AccountAbility, Anwar rushed over to Cheras. The State Liaison Committee of Federal Territory and Bahagian Bandar Tun Razak (BTR) organized a public rally in Cheras. The function was held in the field between the flats of Sri Melaka public housing.

The field was filled by at least 5 or 6 thousands people. Residents could also hear our speeches from their flats.

Speeches were delivered by several leaders of KeADILan. Dr Sanusi Osman, the state chief of FT was the first to speak. Dr Xavier Jayakumar, Dr Lee Boon Chye and Datuk Salleh Hashim all spoke. Datuk Salleh has just been appointed one of the Deputy Head of FT Liaison Committee.

Anwar spoke last. As promised, he commented on Mahathir-Soros meeting. Finally Mahathir had to admit that Soros was not responsible for the financial crisis in 1998. for 8 years, Mahathir had cheated the people, Anwar said.

“If Soros was not responsible, who was?” Anwar asked his listeners. The crowd cried out, “Mahathir! Mahathir!”

By midnight, Anwar touched on the mysterious killing of Mongolian woman. This stirred the curiosity of the audience. The people urged him to continue. Anwar said he would not accuse Najib, Razak Baginda or anybody of zinah, as Islamic principles prohibit making baseless allegation. However the murder warrants an unbiased investigation. Many questions e.g. the use of C4, explosive that only obtained with the authorization from Ministry of Defense, etc. The case is now an international focus. The government should not hide anything.

The rally only ended at half past midnight, slightly passed the curfew time provided by police permit.
