I heard that Pak Lang has been sick for a while. The bad news is that his kidneys are failing.
Pak Lang’s real name is Ahmad Zaki. He is the brother-in-laws of Anwar. He married to Anwar’s younger sister. During the imprisonment of Anwar, he and Rozy vowed not to cut their hair. The two of them kept their hair long until Anwar was released in 2005.
Pak Lang has been a staunch reformis. He was also a close friend of Umar Tan. Tan was burried in his land.
I went to visit him last night (16 January), with Nasir Isa and Shafik. It is sad to see him lying in bed, sick and weak. We reached his Bangi house about 19:00hr. In about 10 minutes after we arrived, Anwar, Azizah and family came to visit.
Pak Lang will go back to hospital for checking again. Hope he will get well again.
