Jasmine & Jack get married
Mar 26th, 2007 by Tian
Jasmine Ng is one of the most dedicated party workers. She got involved with Reformasi during her student activism days in University Malaya. She was one of the active founding members of students’ movement DEMA.
Like her DEMA comrades, she was also helping my election campaign in Selandar in 1999. After graduation, she began to work full time for the party. She has been a staff for the HQ, Ipoh office, Biro Perhubungan Masyarakat, and now Biro Penerangan.
Jasmine works with me since 2004. When I was released from Kamunting, my first public gathering was at Nurul Izzah’s wedding in Bukit Mertajam. Jasmine was there, after just returning from Thailand where she met Mabel.
At the time she was working in the party office in Ipoh. A few months later she was transferred to KL and started working in my office.
Jasmine met Jack Tee, an artist, ex-musician and now advertiser, during 2004 election. Jack was in a band known as Huang Huo (”Yellow Flame” 黄ç«), which was considered an avon grade of Malaysian rock music.
Jasmine and Jack went to the Registrar of Marriage on 26 March morning. I was invited as the witness. The office of Cupid was not the most unromantic place on earth. We managed to go through the motion and completed the procedure.
The young couple will have their wedding banquet in Segamat hosted by their parents on 1 April. Both Jack and Jasmine are from Johore. On 7 April, another reception will be organized in Kajang for friends in Kuala Lumpur.
Unfortunately, I was unable to attend both due to my other schedule. Good luck to Jasmine and Jack. Happy wedding!
