Annual General Meeting: Bahagian Alor Gajah
Parti Keadilan Rakyat Bahagian Alor Gajah had its annual general meeting today (March 25 Sunday). In KeADILan’s lingo, divisional annual general meeting is known as MATB, abbreviation for Mesyuarat Agung Tahunan Bahagian.
The meeting turned out rather calm. However emotion was high among the leaders of the division. KeADILan Alor Gajah earlier made a strong stand to contest the Machap seat in this by-election. In fact, hard work had been carried out months ago to prepare for the winning of Machap. The seat had been identified as the division’s priority area in 2005 MATB. I could understand how upset the division members felt.
Being the ex-chairperson of the division, and representing the national leadership, I officiated the meeting. In my speech, I congratulated the leaders and members in the division for their steadfastness in building the party. I also expressed my support for the quest for Machap in the coming seat negotiation with DAP for the next general election.
A new committee was elected at the meeting.
