The election result was certainly outcome of the EC’s failure to ensure a clean and fair election. Nonetheless, the numbers are still quite revealing. Despite the heavy rigging and bribery, there was still an overall increase of votes in most voting stations:

The votes on 28 April showed that KeADILan was unable to capture the Ijok state seat in the by-election. The final count showed that BN won the seat with a majority of 1850 votes.
