I noticed people got upset reading some of the postings in my blog. A bit of friendly advice: a pinch of humour goes a long way in maintaining a stress free reading…
I am also delighted by Bennyloh’s solidarity. I guess only he and I would be at the Balai Polis if Pak Lah is ever called for interrogation under the Sedition Act due to Ronie Liew’s police report.

What is wrong with this? The act criminalises speech with “seditious tendency”, including that which would “bring into hatred or contempt or to excite disaffection against” the government or engender “feelings of ill-will and hostility between different races”. Can you name any developed country that do not have Sedition Act? I have no problem with this except, it’s very difficult to implement. Elizabethwong your skulls is probably too soft to hold anything.
The presence and existence of ’sedition’ laws doesn’t imply it is a good law.
In this day and age, it is an acceptable to be critical and challenge government’s (and the monarchy’s) opinions, structures, policies. Thus, there exist organisations who are republican in nature in Australia and the UK, or who regularly call for the overthrow of the governments etc.
The trend thus far internationally has been for the abolition of Sedition and Blasphemy laws. Eg. waw reform commissions in Canada, Australia and the UK have advocated the abolition of existing sedition offences, as they are unnecessary, undesirable in light of their political nature and history and inappropriate in modern democracies.
Sedition has little to do with bigotry. This is not a package deal. One would need a separate set of anti-discrimination laws.
By the way, I only have one skull i.e. one head. Go figure.

If the government abuses the Sedition Act, the citizen can vote them out of office. But what are you going to do if there is a group of people abusing the freedom. It is difficult to balance security needs with personal freedom. Can we trust that every man/woman is going to blog in good faith and argue what they believe without any ulterior motive. Please stop cut and paste (copying) to argue your point because I don’t think you understand what they mean and what the author try to accomplish. My command in English has nothing to shout for.
Would you consider this humor/stress free, if some idiot posting a picture of a doctored DPM in a high profile criminal trail. I think my time would be better spend watching Kung Fu Hustler.
