Badrul Hisham @ CheguBard got a new baby girl last month 23 Sept. The baby was born at midday.
I was in Bangkok on that day. Both Bard and I happened to be online. Bard told me that Era had just delivered a few minutes ago. It was exciting news. However I was unable to congratulate Era personally.
On 29 Sept evening, Era’s family put up a kenduri to celebrate the newborn. Yet it was a busy day and I couldn’t make it at the time of Buka Puasa.
Besides seeing the baby, I was keen also to pay a visit to Era’s dad Pak Lang who has been sick all this while (see 17/1/07). A trip to Pak Lang’s house always brings up old memories of my good friend Umar Tan.
I had some difficulty finding his house. Previously I was always accompanied by Tan, and I did not need to worry about the direction.
By the time I reached their house in Bangi it was late, about 22:30hr. Yet Pak Lang was still awake. The crowd who came for the kenduri had all gone.
I was glad that Pak Lang had gone through his operation successfully. He is now much healthier and adopted a more positive attitude. He said that a few weeks ago, he was very down and depressed as he felt that he might not live to see change in this country.
Era looked good too. The cute baby was cheerful and not crying much. She has not missed dad yet.
The baby was named Nur Zaima Jahida. The name was proposed by Dr Badrul Amin, my classmate in Kamuniting. True to his nature as a loyal follower of Che Guevara, Bard crowned his baby girl Che. Her full name is thus Che Nur Zaima Jahida.
It’s obvious mum and dad want her to grow up to be a strong and courageous activist.
