We can already foresee another whitewash for the judiciary scandal. Last Thursday, the ACA officials canceled a meeting with Anwar Ibrahim. Although Anwar informed the officials that he is prepared to give them “what they want”, the ACA did not turn up at Anwar office.
The next day, Ahmad Said the ACA boss accused Anwar for not submitting the original clip and threatened to charge Anwar under Section 29(c) of the Anti-Corruption Act 1997.
Now the ACA claimed that the onus is on Anwar to hand in the evidence. Today, New Straits Times reported that the ACA has completed the probe into the clip and concluded that the tape is not authentic.
The Umno-owned daily also lashed out at Anwar for refusing to reveal the source. Yet more bizarre thing is still to come. The paper has hinted how Umno wants to conclude the episode.
Malaysiakini quoted the NST report (27 Oct):
“We have sent the copy for analysis to many experts, but none can determine the authenticity of the tape, or determine that the person in it or on the other side, are those being alleged,” a source (in the ACA) told the daily.
The identity of the source here will be well protected. The source of the Lingam tape was not so lucky. She or he is being hunted like criminal.
In a few days more, the term of the so-called “Independent” Panel of 3 appointed by Najib will complete soon, in fact next week. We can expect to see Haidar concludes his inquiry with an inconclusive verdict, exactly the same as the lines above.
They would definitely wash their hand off by saying nobody could verify the authenticity of the tape. Thus the case closed, no more issue.
The ACA will subsequently dragged Anwar to court, charged him and at the end detain him again.
Our King too will be bullied to sign a six-month extension for Ahmad Fairuz.
In the meantime, the rots continue…
Shortly after landing our first cosmonought on some kampung on the moon thus showing our savvy with space science, space travel and space age, our nation of inept and ineffectual politicians and bureaucrats have to make themselves out as tree-swinging assholes for the world to laugh at with its jungle bungle of handling this corruption case.
Given that we have the most developed IT infrastructure north of Singapore, the ‘Multimedia Supercorridor/highwayrobbery’ (or something like that - I’ve forgotten the actual crass name…) our bright space age scientists cannot find out ways to determine if a tape is genuine or otherwise or whatever. And our goonverment cannot work out that it is not altogether that critical that a tape has to be the original copy for the purpose of ascertaining whoever is in it (or not). Any copy which can provide good enough evidence will do. It reminds me of that famous French restaurant photo of not too long ago.
Our jungleland politicians have always to find a person still holding the smoking gun in order to make a case out of something while in the rest of the world they have progressed to all sorts of ways (associated with mainly the will) to make a corruption case out of a corruption case. Says a lot for our government! And what a pharking laugh!
The dodge and duck and bob and dive on the part of those whose job is to make a case a case would turn the ACA into the Abetting Corruption Agency. What’s the difference? - what we are getting is a lot of harassment of witnesses, Independent Panel not totally set up in a perceived independent manner, and bullying of those who dare bring the possibility of corruption to the attention of those who are supposed to act in the interest of the public.
The ACA and those behind it had better get the whitewash the right colour (white) for right now its bits of hapless clowning has place the whole mess in the attention of not just Malaysians but the rest of the world - the BBC only recently reported an offer by our government to a witness for some free facelift - disguising the identity permanently by plastic surgery( Arrrrgh…!!!!) so that s/he cannot be identified in the case. What another phreaking laugh! This imbecile idea and the fact that those clowns cannot get their whitewash right shows Malaysia up as a nation run by morons with uniquely bizarre ideas and horrifying lack of intelligence!
Next time we send another cosmonot up to space we had better hope the monkeys running the zoo have progressed to at least wiping the backsides cleaner whenever there is some corruption to hide.
The monkeys are caught in a damned-if-you-do-and-damned-if-you-don’t situation. If they proceed to making bigger twits of themselves by hounding the witnesses they would look utterly silly and if they don’t - well, can you find anyone that stupid as to attract such attention to themselves already?
Spare us all the monkey business and get on with it, boys, so that our government can get a badly needed facelift - if ever there is anything more goddamn stupid this has to be almost it!
