Hysteria + Paranoaid

Hysteria and paranoia, I don’t know which is worse?
The symptoms of such mental disorder are getting more and more serious among our political elite. Pity the police force. They are exploited so thoroughly to serve the psychologically unstable government leaders.
As weekend approaches, tension kept building up. Roadblocks were not only set up in KL but also at entrance and exit of North-South Highway.
Saturday (24 Nov) night: As I was leaving Melaka back to KL, police set up roadblock on the Ayer Keloh PLUS exit. It was obvious that their target was Indian, cars with Indian drivers or passengers had been asked to pull aside and checked or questioned.
What is the big deal of having a gathering in front of the British High Commission?
Protest gathering is not something new in Malaysia. True, HINDRAF’s mobilization targets mainly on Indians.
This is also not unusual in Malaysia. The objective of the mobilization is simply handing over a memorandum to the British High Commission.
February this year, thousands of Muslims held protest rally at Danish Embassy. They handed over a memorandum to express objection against Danish press publishing caricatures which had insulted Prophet Muhammad. The gathering was peaceful and order.
We had a few mass gathering against US agrression in Iraq and Afghanistan. Khairy Jamaruddin even led one of the demonstration against the visit of Condaliza Rice.
Ten of thousands of people were on the street for anti War protest outside the US Embassy. No violence, no stone was trhrown, no car was burned.
In September, 4-5 thousands Burmese held a mass gathering in support of democratic struggle at home. They protested at the Burmese Embassy, and marched to embassies of Russian and China. Their leaders handed over a protest memorandum to the embassies of two countries then dispersed peacefully.
All these mass gathering did not cause any unwanted incident. The police did not cause unnecessary nuisance with excessive security measure.
What so special with a few thousands Indians gather outside British High Commission?
It seems that Malaysian citizens of Indian descent have less rights than the Burmese migrant workers. You don’t call this discrimination?
Paranoia:
