Front page of state-controlled papers today prominently quoting Najib’s advice to the BN leaders: let the Chua Soi Lek sex scandal be a lesson. The Deputy Prime Minister said party members must exercise discipline and uphold a high moral code in their conduct.
I am sure many people must have burst into laughter upon reading Najib’s statement, like I did.
There is a very apt Malay proverb: “umpama ketam mengajar anaknya berjalan lurus”. Kit Siang immediately teased Najib as “bapa ketam”.
Is it true that Najib is trying to teach his baby crabs to walk straight?
Maybe not from the beginning. Najib was certainly aware of his awkward position. He might have said: “Chua, you have my full sympathy…”
Chua Soi Lek announced that he was quitting all posts in the government and his party on 2 January, apparently of his own will. Just a day before (1 January), the Health Minister had admitted in a press conference that he was the man in the sex video tape. At the time, he maintained that he would continue to serve the government. He said he had met with the PM, DPM and the MCA President.
But what made him change his mind merely less than 24 hours after his confession?
Judging from his confession speech at the press conference, Chua Soi Lek did not appear to have been advised by any of the three leaders to step down.
The DPM confirmed this in a press conference on 3 Jan. Najib said that the Cabinet did not force him (Chua) to resign.
Then Najib went on to praise Chua: “What he did was noble, courageous and right. It is not easy for anyone to do this and I appreciate it.”
Najib was confident that the opposition parties would not make an issue of the sex video in the general election.
Yes, that’s right! Whatever the ‘misconduct’ by Chua Soi Lek was, he had the courage to admit to it, and resign.
Although Najib said that he admires Chua for doing a ‘noble’ thing, Najib himself lacks the courage to do likewise. Why should the opposition continue to kick Chua Soi Lek while we already have plenty of scandals in the Altantuya case?
What a hypocrite!!! Appreciate what that man Chua has done. In fact, when caught with his penis out of his pants, that Chua Sok Lei had the audacity to go on the attack saying that Malaysians hava a holier than thou attitude. This is morality which these BN stooges do not understand. They are just an immoral bunch of thieves, plunderers and no hopers. Just have to look at the main culprits the PM and the DPM. These people have no back bones nor any spines.
I laugh at what the police are currently doing. They are just plain stupid catching the small crabs distributing the DVDs. Come on, how is the police going to catch those who have already posted the video in the Internet. BN just wastes the Rakyat’s tax money un-necessarily. Maybe the police would go after Yahoo and Google very soon.
Anyways, I don’t really like Chua Soi Lek escpecially after the incident where he promised to compensate the baby’s parents. He was just a bloodily bullshitter.
