Perak Roadshow (2)
Jan 8th, 2008 by Tian
I spent my Saturday and Sunday in Perak for various programs.
On 5 Jan night, KeADILan organized a public talk in Pusing, a town within Parliament Batu Gajah.
The next evening Sunday (6 Jan), we held another public talk in Kg Sinee within Ipoh Canning Garden state constituency.
This form of public talk was different from the ceramah umum (although we also call it ceramah). Its target was for a small crowd of 100-200 people in the neighbourhood.
In our experience, the smaller crowd could achieved better result. The speakers could have more interaction and received immediate feedback from the audience.
The main speakers in these ceramah were: Dr Lee Boon Chye and myself, supported by Tai Seng Ng (Deputy Chair of Perak State Liaison Committee), Chan Ming Kai (a young KeADILan), etc. and several Malay and Indian leaders.
As election is fast approaching, the demand for me to deliver speech around the country increased many folds. This is the problem of no access to media. We have to deliver our message face-to-face to the voters, this requires a lot of hardwork traveling from North to South: benefiting toll companies and petrol stations.
