Bersih trial

Have to attend court today (10 Feb). 17 of us including Mat Sabu, personnel of Unit AMAL PAS and I had been charged for causing riots during BERSIH mass demonstration. We were arrested 10 November last year.
The court in fact fixed this week for the trial. The trial supposed to proceed this morning and rushed all the way to Melaka.
Unfortunately, DPP Ishak Mohd Yusof had not got their act together. Although he told the judge Rozana Ali Yusoff that the prosecution was prepared to proceed with the trial, documents had not been ready and given to our defence lawyers.
When asked by judge, the DPP said the papers will only be available in a week time.
At the same time, Ranjit Singh my counsel would be occupied in the Royal Commission hearing and unable to go on with the trial next week.
The prosecution also amended the charge by adding some detail: the place and time of the alleged offense.
The trial is now fixed on 14 to 18 July 2008.
i watched the BERSIH perhimpunan on utube…i’m quite surprised…so many people and the more surprising is the water canons & police actions..
