Nomination Day
Feb 25th, 2008 by Tian
The nomination went smoothly.
The nomination center for Batu Parliament was at Chong Hwa High School, Jalan Ipoh. About 100 of our supporters assembled near Mutiara Complex and marched with me to the center. We reached the nomination center just before 09:00hr.
The EC had imposed new restrictions this year. The two sides were only divided far apart. We could not face each other throughout the nomination process. Apparently the EC intended to avoid confrontation, but this also reduced the excitement of the campaign.
Only 3 persons, i.e. the candidates, proposer and seconder of the nomination, allowed to enter the nomination center.
It was quiet inside the nomination center too. A big empty hall with only 3 EC officers sitting in the middle. I handed in the nomination first, at about 09:15.
After 20 minutes of checking, the EC officially received by papers. Gerakan candidate, Lim Si Pin putera Lim Keng Yaik walked in and handed his after me.
For another hour of waiting, no objection from either side. While waiting, rumours were flying that Wee Choo Keong won uncontested in Wangsa Maju. The news said that BN candidate Datuk Yew Teong Look had filled in his form mistakenly.
I immediately thought that must be natural justice. Wee lost his seat unjustly and now given back. (Later, I found out that the EC accepted the BN nomination as the mistake was considered technical error.
Finally, the entire nomination process completed at 11:00hr.
Do you have a schedule of all your ceramahs around Batu area? I can help to disseminate the info.
Wishing you luck and success in this election.
Veera
You guys need to press on and get your policy and strategy in place. Start selling yourselves with promises of doing this and that.
After all you are facing an election machinery and media spotlights that tend to bias to the authority.
Keep up the momentum and on election night, we look forward to a swing towards the worthy party.
Tian Chua,
Congratulation as a candidate, I hope you will win time !
Keep up the good work. I arrived late, so was about 30 others.
An Indian fellow came when everthing was over. I knew of one UMNO leader supporting you. He said that he had ask people to help to put up PKR Tent at TKP2.
dear yb, ehem ehem…its seems in the p115-13area tmn melewar little bit quite only some pkr flags but in the n17 gombak setia and no banners , I wonder why so quite…
YOU ARE THE ONE !!!!
I was so excited when you proposed to be a candidate because you are one of the candidate that we really need !!!!
I am so sure where i will cross my ballot paper on 8th March 2008. Thank you Thian Chua !!
By the way, do you mind to let us know your schedules of “ceramah” ??
You guy are riding high at this political junction. Do not let the authority suppress your guts to stand up in a democracy.
Set your sight to be a political force in our great nation, a nation that should not be dominated by racial and biased economy/social background.
Those disadvantaged and marginalised must be dragged along towards prosperity as well. Nation’s wealth should be distributed throughout and not in the hands of a group of cronies.
Mr Tian Chua,
I hope you will win…however,
I wish to highlight few issues
1) Safety against crimes. Residents in Tmn Mastiara have encountered numerous snatch-theft cases. Rarely found cops patrolling the residential areas. Only seen them enjoying their meals at the indian shop.
2) Cleaniness. Especially shop-houses area. Shop-house residents sufferred severely from rats / cockroaches attack due to irresponsible shop/restaurant owners. Parking areas unfairly used to setup tables and chairs. Drunk customers continued to stay till wee hours - making havocs and urinating everywhere, even at cars. This was ignored by restaurant owners.
Rest assured of our votes in you. We only hope for a better and peaceful living area in return.
Mr Tian Chua,
I will vote for you again and hope that you win this time!
Get your elction strategy right……we need a change in the political scene. For too long they have taken all the minorities for granted.
At least deny that 2/3 paliamentary majority!!!!!!!!
The nation needs a change of direction in all social and economic aspects.
Go,go.. Keadilan!!!
My Chinese and Indian friends pls tell your friends and family members to support a real Multiracial party for the betterment of our future.
Break the 50 yrs old KERIS of UMNOputras!!!
My vote for u Tian Chua!!
