What so seditious about Raja Petra Kamarul (RPK)’s article, “Let’s send the Altantuya murderers to hell“?
Sedition is an act of encouraging rebellion against the authorities or social order. Granted, the article insinuated that Deputy PM Najib Razak is linked to the murder of Altantuya. Whether Najib is really involved in the case, that is something all Malaysians are interested.
Like it or not, the whole country is asking the same question. However the trial of Razak Baginda and the two police officers will not lead to the resolution of this puzzle. As it stands, the entire trial has insulated DPM Najib from answering some very pertinent questions.
RPK is now prosecuted and punished for his writing. Assuming it is true that RPK incites hatred towards DPM, No. 2 in the hierarchy of power. I wonder why the AG make no effort to take on bloggers and internet users who call for the fall of PM Abdullah Badawi?
It seems that it is ok to incite hatred towards PM but not DPM.
There are a few possible explanations to this:
1. PM Abdullah is more tolerant that the DPM?
2. DPM is now in full control and his statue should not be challenged?
3. The motive of investigating RPK is to expose more information on DPM?
I saw you asking this in LKS’ motion.
And what is this : The Government has no plans to enact a Freedom of Information Act and relevant laws to protect whistleblowers because the Official Secrets Act is sufficient.

RPK is innocent and we all as fellow Malaysian will do our best to secure his freedom. Hopefully the REAL culprit will be prosecuted and justice can prevail.
Anyway there is some issues that I will like YB to highlight to the Federal Government, our Work Minister Mohd Zin had told us that the reason for not lowering the toll rate in most of the highway is due to the reason that the highways are not making “PROFIT”. So I was confused now, was it making “LOSS” then? Or barely make it BREAK-EVEN? Please as you may YB, raise this issue in the parliament to had a thorough investigation into the claims of Work Ministry (I think it is better we had an independent team of auditors to check the account balance of the toll concessionaires).
Lastly! yeah we all support the end of OSA and ISA, both draconian law had being label as DRACONIAN as well by the Bar Council so we hope the REFORM that our PM promises us, the RAKYAT should also consider REFORMING OSA and ISA law. REFORM, REFORM, and REFORM not CORRECT.. CORRECT.. CORRECT la please AIYO…
I think the third possibility highlighted by tian is the likely scenario, granted that the current PM has the intention of sending a clear message to the people on choosing between him and a murderer. Having said that, if you’re in DPM’s shoe, would you let the court case die the dodo bird way or re-ignite the flame by arresting RPK?

staying in M’sia is no different than staying in China. you have no right to question top personal. they are “demigod”. you don’t know when you get lockup. anyone with power and money can send another, lockup if the person feel you have insulted him/her.
i am glad there are people like Raja Petra Kamaruddin around. i thought there are no such person anymore. after GE 12, i found that there are a lot of people like Raja Petra Kamaruddin.
can now understand Anwar Ibrahim now let the gomen falls on it’s own.
with God mercy and all these good people, that M’sia will be like Australia or Singapore or Hong Kong, where everyone wants to go. I am sure we will be there. Then all M’sian migrated will be coming home to really build Malaysia. Malaysia will be an envy to the world.
i think government needs to define clearly with appropriate examples on our sedition act.
it seems like our government is so vulnerable that a simple statement that made by the public is classified under the sedition act. in another words, we can only say positive things on our government - so they can become complacent and do whatever they like - unbelievable!
If by making statement like “sending the Altantuya murderers to hell” can make PM and DPM squirm enough to resort to using the Sedition Act, what is the country coming to?
Or is it “ada udang di sebalik batu?” “Siapa makan cili, dia rasa pedas?” “Nasi sudah jadi bubur?”
I hope really “nasi sudah jadi bubur’ for the murderers…and they get sent to jail, whoever they are and whatever post they carry. And I am not alluding to anyone cos I am just an ordinary citizen looking for a just and fair country to live in. We need to have a safe place to live. That is our right.
Eventually God will do it to them too. Correct? “Tanam padi, jangan harap buah”. And kudos to all who seek justice like RPK.
