Licence to kill
May 27th, 2008 by Tian
In answering question from PAS Padang Terap MP Nasir Zakaria, Deputy Minister of Education Idris Haron said that academic standard of Malaysian universities is not as bad as the opposition described. When Nazir tried to interject, the Deputy Minister responded rudely. A debate broke out between both sides. Deputy Minister Idris shouted a Tamil word “ukker” towards Padang Terap MP.
The provocative behavior of the Deputy Minister caused an explosion of rage among Indian MPs. Ipoh Barat MP Kula and Padang Serai MP Golabakrishnan stood up to protest and demanded the Deputy Minister to withdraw his statement.
The Deputy Minister intensionally twisted his pronunciation to make the word sounded vulgar.
Finally, the Speaker requested Idris to withdraw the statement.
Yesterday, a similar incident happened.
Deputy Minister of Health Abdul Latiff Ahmad stirred a heated debate when he accused that doctors have “license to kill”. Dr Hatta first stood up to object, followed by many other medical doctors in the Hall.
From the people who stood up, it was clear that there were more doctor MPs on the Pakatan Rakyat side than the BN.
The next time i go to see doc expecially in GM, i guess i must stated clear to the doc that “I WANT TO LIVE, NOT GET KILL”
Pls YB, What a shame on us our Uni ranking is 200 over.
Dear YB,
It is a good news indeed to note that PKR have more doctor than BN. Hope more professionals will join PKR.
Thank you.
Dear YB,
I hope all the Partai Rakyat YB’s are uptodate on the news especially on their constituency… are there any possibility of a list of their contacts, emails that we, the rakyat can report or advice or give suggestions?
YB,I still remember when youre hit with the FRU’s belantan, when they tried to drag you away from the FRU’s truck.. it must have been really sakit.. I couldnt have imagine.. the sight of you being hit. take kare.. and may ALlah bless all of PR YB’s
“License to kill?” maybe he’s right. Remember the poor little baby at the Klang General Hospital, whose hand was amputated? She was born a normal child and very unfortunately for her, she have to grow up, spend the rest of her life and live for the rest of her life without a hand, just because of a decision made by the doctors ? Who are those involved? Why are they not held accountable? Should they still be allowed to pratise and given the ‘license to kill’ for such incompetence and unprofessionalism in them? Why can’t their names be revealed whereas the names of those that owed loans and made minor mistakes in life are made public? YB please do the necessary and seek justice for this young girl.
It is a shame that both the Ministers resort to that kind of public speech in Parliament of Malaysia.
It is obvious that both were incapable to conduct the Parliamentary Business and/or desperate to fight on. It’s another good case of wate of public resources to get these so-called Ministers to come up and speak.
