PM tables Mid-term Review of 9MP
Jun 26th, 2008 by Tian
PM Abdullah is delivering his speech on the Mid-term Review of the 9th Malaysian Plan.
He started his speech at 11:30hr.
We MPs received the full document on Monday (23 June). The 120-odd-page document is published in two versions, English and Malay. We will be debating this document next week.
In his usual monotonic style, Pak Lah is reading us various indicators and targets. His speech is boring, not only for us in the opposition. It seems that the government MPs are also looking dull and sleepy.
Usually when it comes to a cheerful announcement, the backbenchers would cheers and knock on table in unison. Today, even the backbenchers are not enthusiastic. We only see sporadic approval from Sabah and Sarawak MPs when the PM touched on funding to Sabah or Sarawak (I only counted twice).
In Mid-term Review, we expected the Government to inform us what had been achieved. However we find the report only full of rhetorics. PM is still talking about “what the government intends to do” rather than “what the government has done”.
His speech only created some excitement when he spoke about some forces trying to take over power. For a short while, the Parliament became a bit cheerful.
The PM ended his speech with a prayer to appeal to the AL-Mighty. Amen, God save Malaysia!
What if Penang is under Gerakan today? Kick Pak Lah out. He denied his own state’s welfares. No monorail, no ring-road, what a shame to him who squandered the treasury money to nowhere and now has no money for these 2 projects.
Pak Lah definitely need the prayers. He realises that every day is not an easy day for him. That is the reason he is not able to say “what the government has done”. An with the latest ‘bombshell’ launched by RPK, Pak Lah will have difficulty to sleep, even during the day.
I don’t see why we have to cut down so many trees to supply 200-page documents to all the MPs..when only 1-page will suffice….no need to putar belit up to 200 pages when the answers are so straight forward….”Q: what has the government done - Ans: suck the country dry!…”Q: what the government intends to do - Ans: continue to suck the country dry while they still can”….
YB Tian,
Biasalah bro. PakLah cakap mem”boring”kan (membosankan)..
Hari ini Nazri bantai kelab MP BN kerana media dilarang berlegar dilobi parlimen…..ketua dan naib ketua kelab BN MP sudah marah kat Nazri…bagus tuuu…. biar dia org gaduh.
No one seems to be interested in whatever that incompetent compulsive liar is saying anymore.
Whatever is said and was said by that repulsive arrogant PM changes , mutates and might be canceled in a few months time.
He ain’t no head of the government but he is definitely a part of the problems heaping up in our country.
Can’t really expect much from this Mid-term Review of 9MP…….it is just another talk and talk session.
Frankly without the influx of foreign investments, the nation will be going no-where. In fact, I believe Vietnam is doing better economically at the moment.
We need a bunch of good leaders to firestart the economy! State government in Penang, Selangor and Perak might as well look for foreign investment themselves and brush aside the Federal counter-part.
