The police is seeking help from Interpol to find Balasubramaniam.
In a special press conference on 6 July, Criminal Investigation Department director Bakri Zinin said Malaysian police had enlisted the help of Interpol and authorities in neighbouring countries to help locate him (Malaysiakini).
I am glad that the police is taking up the search. However why seeking Interpol at this early stage?
Does the police have information that Bala has gone overseas.
Bakri Zinin himself said that immigration record does not indicate that Balasubramaniam has gone out of the country. This morning (7 July), the nephew of Bala, Kumerasan was called to IPD Selayang for investigation.
Nonetheless, the police should not use Interpol to shift public attention. The threat of Balasubramaniam’s safety is from within the country. The police should immediate investigate a few obvious suspects who have an interest in Bala’s disappearance. The three key witnesses are:
- Najib: to determine whether he had influenced Bala in the retraction of his SD;
- Lawyer Arulapalam who was seen last publicly with Bala;
- The commission of oath from the law firm Zul Rafique & Partners.
However, Interpol should be asked to help with:
- interviewing the public relations officers of the Jewelry Fair in Singapore;
- locating the photographer of Najib, Altantuya and Razak in a Paris restaurant.

Tian, you are exactly right. Why call in Interpol when the police have no reason to believe Bala and his family have left the country? Why call Interpol in when Bala was only missing 2 days ? Is a sandiwara going on?
I fear the worse for Bala and his family. Even if he is in hiding why didn’t he inform his immediate family knowing they will be sick with worry.
I hope he’s alright. The alternative is just too horrible to contemplate.
The one in the centre of the storm had better hope Bala and his family turn up safely soon. Their permanent disappearance will end his political ambition.
By the way, the police can easily established whether Najib, Razak and Altantuya were in Singapore together by requesting the S’pore govt for immigration records.
What….that creepy legal firm….Zul Rafique involved in this too?????……..God….these guys are history when the PR comes to power…….in fact they are already marked men…….all those pretty receptionists sitting behind that desk…….cabut while you can….
Perhaps an elite polis squad with special powers which is solely answerable either to a select inter-party parliamentary committee or a public figure of absolute integrity (and no one else) should be set up to investigate these issues. The investigation must result in the institution of criminal proceedings against any person found to be involved in any criminal activity without fear or favour. Any person found guilty of criminal activity must bear the full weight of the law.

Before going to INTERPOL wouldn’t it be logical to determine if Bala and family had indeed left our shores? How to do that? Check immigration records. Was this done? Obviously not.

You know it is not so easy to be on the “run” with wife and 3 kids!
If indeed they left our shores, surely (unless he was whisked away in the many private jets that our Government and their friends own), airline manifest will show where they went to. At least the next destination before they got off the plane and walked to their next destination. For that local police will be more effective than INTERPOL.

This case should be reported and investigated under kidnapping not missing case.
Wouldn’t it be funny if Bala and family were to suddenly appear in the next few days saying that they were actually holidaying in some island resort in Malaysia just to get away from all the limelight and pressure on the family?? On the the other hand, any unidentified bodies found floating in rivers or burnt inside some cars or oil palm estate may well be the flip side. Yes, ugly as it may seem, we can no longer refuse to believe the unbelievable as what is going on around us now seem so bizarre and surreal…I wish I can wake up and find that all that is happening now is only a bad nightmare…Oops, apologies…I am living in Bolehland right, not dreamland…
Only when a wanted person is running from pole to pole
Do you then really seek and need the services of the Interpol
Otherwise if it’s mere hiding within any local unknown hole
We’ll be better off if we start digging first with our very own hoe

Aiyoh… does anyone for one minute really believe the story spread by the MSM or BN that PI Bala has gone overseas or that the police is really looking for him? I would think the truth is closer toward the police or someone in the corridors of power making his whole family disappear from public view, until such time he can be got rid of. Has anyone checked Kamunting or Sg Buloh or Peace Hill or anywhere where a family can remain undetected for years??
I hope Bala and family have not been C4ed!!! What 4? Erase all trace of evidence, lo. Din Bala express certain fear when he spilt the beans in his first SD? And in his 2nd, every line wt Najib’s name was deleted?? Ordinary folks like us also can figure out. No need 007 or Sherlock Holmes, la.
The police is supposed to protect the helpless and the innocent in society. But in Malaysia, the police are protecting powerful/harmful high-profile personalities, regardless of whether they are guilty of crime or not…. and hunting down the less harmful and/or innocent poor fighters of truth/justice/true democracy! So very upsidedown world la, this country! How to survive la like that! Anyone with the right mind left up the ladder in our society? Someone in authority of the highest level who is God-honouring and God-fearing… who can bring about a return of truth, justice and honour back to our dear nation? Anyone, pls! Answer that call! And reverse the order of the justice of the day! QUICK!!! Plizzzzzzz.
