Arrest Warrant against Anwar
Jul 15th, 2008 by Tian

Lawyer Sankara Nair received a fax from IPD Brickfields this afternoon 13:00hr. It was only 3 paragraphs:
Title: Surrender for assisting investigation
-
Please be informed that your client named Dato Seri Anwar bin Ibrahim is required to be appeared at the IPK Kuala Lumpur on 16 July 2:00pm and meet with Investigating Officer DSP Jude Pereira .
-
For your information, arrest warrant on your client has been issued. (the exact wording in Malay: Untuk maklumat, waran tangkap keatas anakguam tuan telah dikeluarkan.)
-
Your cooperation is needed and appreciated.
The content of the letter indicates some worrying signs:
-
Anwar has never refused cooperation with the police, why there is a need for a warrant?
-
Anwar is only called for recording a Witness Statement under Section 112 of CPC, he is not yet an accused. The use of language such as “surrender” (menyerah diri) gives an impression that he is running away from investigation.
-
The police had already issued a warrant of arrest, does it means that the police can only seize Anwar anytime?
I cannot help but to conclude that this police investigation is politically motivated. Anwar is coming very close to end this incompetent autocracy. A storm is on its way…
What can I say? Already suspect this will happen. This bastard govt will not go without sinking the nation first. I for one will start not to pay my taxes and will avoid all of Petronas job no matter how lucrative. Civil disobedience should be the way to bring down this rotten govt.
Keep up the good work. Don’t give up especially since we are so close. We will see those bastards in hell.
Totally agree with your views.
Dear Tian Chua,
yeah, it look and smells like a politically motivated thingy, btw, on what grounds does the police issue the warrant of arrest?
this really pisses me off…
Well, we can boycott BN and their cronies of course but I think we should continue to pay taxes…otherwise our dear Tian also won’t get paid his MP allowances!!..:)
I think DSAI is sending out the right message when he said that with or without him, PR will still march to Putrajaya…PR will still form a new government…this is a strong awakening call to everyone that we all must play our part and not falter or lose hope or faith should DSAI is immobilised for whatever reason…HIDUP PR!!!
Can we see Agong again??
