Arrest of Anwar

10 years ago, will it be repeated?…
Anwar was arrested on his way back from ACA to his house. This morning Anwar was at ACA HQ to assist the investigation on IGP and AG from 10:00hr. By midday 12:10hr, he cut short the questioning in order to rush over to Police HQ to keep his appointment at 14:00hr.
From Putrajaya, Anwar and his entourage detoured home for a quick stopover to freshen up before going over to the IPK. On they way home, their cars were stopped at the junction of Jalan Segambut Dalam. It was about 12:50hr when a group of armed and masked policemen seized Anwar and put him under arrest.
He was immediately brought to the IPK, accompanied by Sivarasa and Sankara Nair who were with Anwar in ACA.
I got the news when I was in the parliament. William and I rushed over to the IPK. President Wan Azizah and her daughter came next. Then various MPs too arrived.
The people have began to gather in front of the police HQ. After some negotiation, the police allowed MPs into the HQ building. About a dozen of MPs including: Azmin Ali, William Leong, Wee Choo Keong, Zaharin, Manikavasagam, etc entered the HQ. However this concession was meaningless, as we were only confined in the canteen and not permitted to be with Anwar.
In the canteen, we discussed with Kit Siang; and Kit Siang advised to go back to the Parliament and raised our objection towards the brutal police action.
At 14:45hr, Pakatan MPs returned to the Parliament. Azmin first took the floor using the opportunity of the debate on Supplementary Bill to condemn the unprofessional act.
At about 16:00hr, I also gave my speech.
The arrest was highly provocative and uncalled for. The police had acted outside the bounce of their power. It was unnecessary to arrest Anwar since he had agreed to attend the investigation.
The action is clearly a way to put fear in the public. The authority of the regime is fast eroded by the expansion of democratic space and growing momentum of Pakatan Rakyat since the General Election of 8 March.
I believe the regime attempts to spread the culture of fear to undermine the Pakatan’s strength. We also worried that this is a prelude to a mass crackdown against opposition.
My suspicion is not without basis, Raja Petra received a notice from the police today stating that he will be charged in court tomorrow (17 July).
What’s next for Anwar?
I am afraid, very afraid, Malaysia will come to a situation like that in Myanmar or Mongolia recently…already, I am finding difficulty this afternoon in logging on to Keadilan blogs as well as other blogs…when I do get in, the blogs were illegible. Could it be possible the government may block our access to outside world and vice versa as well soon?? hell..this is scary..
Yeah, there is definitely a feeling of deja vu of 1998…ten years on and Malaysia (more specifically, BN government) still has not advanced an inch towards world class mentality…they are still like pirates and samsengs…I truly fear for the future of my beloved country…

GOD save DSAI and this beloved country call Malaysia! What’s becoming of this beautiful place we call home. Just yesterday you gave us a sight of your intelligence by drawfing the cheeky Cheek! DSAI, they may break your bones but they can never break your will, faith and conviction. You proved it once before!
YOU’RE UNDER ARREST!
Dear Supporters of Genuine Democracy
The Chilean invention of banging pots and pans at a fixed time is a good one to show dissatisfaction with the authorities.
The people pick up their pots and pans in their own kitchens and own homes and bang as loudly as they can. People who are not at home can also go to eating shops and pick up utensils and bang them as loudly as possible. Other possibilities — blowing whistles, sounding car horns. But all at the same time for 15 to 30 minutes.
An Open letter to all BN MPs – flee that sinking BN ship.

The police detained DSAI in the police cells because they want to take his hair samples that may have fallen while he was asleep and say that they were found in the condo. Can someone warn DSAI of that NOW and also his lawyers about it? Do it now and now.
Ribuan penjenayah berkeliaran merata. LAWAN TETAP.
