A victory for people

The landslide victory for Anwar in the Permatang Pauh by-election is a new landmark for Malaysia’s democracy.
In my operation center in Samagagah town, from 18:00hr onward, people gathered to wait for the result. We setup projector and a screen to provide the updates as the result flowing in.
In less than an hour, the picture was clear: we led in all ballot boxes as votes were being counted. At 19:00hr, when international reporters called, I was confident enough to declare victory even though only 40% votes counted.
The crowd outside the op center was jubilant cheering at our triumphing results. It was a very touching scene to see Chinese, Indian and Malay assembled in front of the screen sharing the moment of joy together.
The victory was a clear defeat of UMNO’s racialism, corruption and money politics. Despite the full utilization of state machinery and resources, UMNO still lost miserably. Only 33% of total votes received by Barisan Nasional’s candidate. The people are not foolish as assumed by UMNO. Unfortunately, I doubt UMNO will learn its lesson.
Last General Election on March 8, the voters delivered a clear signal of desire for reforms. However UMNO refused to receive the message. In the by-election, UMNO again used racial hatred and character assassination as the weapon against the KeADILan and our candidate.
The result of Permatang Pauh is an unequivocal rejection of the dirty corrupted tactic of UMNO. The people have won!
Now that, the PP by-election is over, I think that we should move forward, focus on common goals of nationbuilding and cooperate with mutual respect instead of arguing over differences.
YB, you have had played your role well. Congratulation to all peoples in PP and all Pakatan Rakyat members for all the hard works during those trying time of 10 long days !!!!
No two persons are alike and as such we need to tread carefully, always watching out for the ‘entrapment’ that bn cronies could have had laid just to catch many offguard.
I salute you for your continuous stand for justice and democracy and indeed we the rakyat need more of your kind in parliament as the words such as truth, honesty and integrity have been long lost. Continue the march and surely the day of reckoning will not be too far away for the plunderers. Keep up the good works and may the Lord bless you and family with all that you desire.
Congrats to Pakatan rakyat. One day in future, we will get back our bright future.
Congratulation to the winner…….next task is to nail down that AHmad who should be prosecuted by law for passing insulting remarks on some Malaysians. Why his boss said Ahmad did not mean what he said and yet another boss was apologising. What a load of crap…..the very person (AHmad) should take a stand and be held accountable for his words!!!
