Bulldoze Bill
Dec 16th, 2008 by Tian

At 19:30hr (16 December), after two days debate, the parliament dominated by BN MPs is now bulldozing the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Bill.
Subang MP Sivarasa proposed several amendments to strengthen the power of the Commission. We also advocate that the MACC to be free from Attorney General Office. However, MPs from BN rejected our motion without consideration.
We are now looking at all our proposed amendments voted down by BN. The ruling parties refused to concede even one single inch.
I have a feeling of dejavu. This is a repeat of last week when we passed the Amendment of University and University Colleges Act (UUCA). Tony Pua proposed a series of amendments to grant greater political freedom to students and academics. We argued until late night, but all shot down like tonight.
At the end of tonight, Malaysia will have a new Anti Corruption Act. However it is far from an independent commission as we all hope for.
In America or other more developed countries, thousands os people will be protesting in front of parliament to show their discontentment of the new law; but I guess peace loving Malaysians will be trodden upon by the bullies once again…
the BN makes laws to protect themselves more then the country and the poeple and the AG is blind to all these rubbish thats goes on.shabas BN we will be a progressive nation on par with USA next year
TO BE BULL-HEADED
In any land where there’s plenty of bullshit
There must certainly be plenty of bullls around
And bulls must do what they often do best to shit
Almost everywhere that’s safe on the sacred ground

It is obvious that the BN does not give a damn to whatever the opposition MPs say, whether constructive or otherwise. They have made up their minds since parliament convened to REJECT REJECT REJECT every proposal by the opposition. The BN leaders have brainwashed their MPs to act like Zombies and blindly reject the opposition. Should that be the case, even if the BN has a majority of 1 (one), they can still rule. Under the present circumstances in the way the BN Mps have been conditioned to behave, it makes no difference whether the BN is big or small. The opposition might as well give up and take to the streets to demonstrate. It is futile giving all kinds of valid and constructive proposals only to be rejected at the end of the day. Clearly the BN does not recognize democracy at all. Force is only what it understands
